What is hijab?

Hijab is a word which means a fabric or a piece of cloth which is used to cover head.

Now coming to hijabi clothes so the definition of hijabi clothes could be as straight and simple because hijab clothing is the cover of a complete body.

Let’s try to understand with this quick introduction about hijab clothes. Let me tell you the truth that a Muslim who is living in an Islamic country is not allowed to wear those type of dresses which showcases women body.

Hijab clothes and Muslims have a deep connection because these clothes covers the whole body of a Muslim. There is a huge category of Hijab clothes which I will tell you step by step.

Khimar:

Khimar is the piece of cloth which covers the head, half face along with the upper half of the body. This cloth is also used while offering prayers.

Shalwar Kameez:

This is a proper three piece dress which includes shirt, trousers and dupatta which is a piece of almost 2 meters of fabric and is used to cover head and body.

Shalwar kameez can be worn as a proper covering of the body because it is made of printed, plain or embroidered. It is stitched according to different measurement of lengths, width and sizes.

Niqab:

Niqab is a piece of cloth and it is kind of veil which is used to cover the whole face excluding/including eyes. It is worn with a head scarf by few Muslim women.

Abaya:

Abaya is an Islamic tradition of Muslims and it is worn in different Islamic countries of the world. Abaya is a gown like piece of fabric which is used by Muslim women to cover the clothes. It has different types of colors, designs, embroidery and some abayas have sequins work on them. It is fastened with the help with buttons, zip or hooks

Burqa:

Burqa is a covering fabric which covers women from head to toe, the eye area is also covered with a net through one can see but practice of wearing burqa is commonly done by Afghanis whether they live in Afghanistan or in different regions of Pakistan.

Jilbab:

Jilbab is a long fitted coat which has a wide collars. It can be tailored stitched straight and in different colors.

Chador:

Chador is also a hijabi cloth but it is a one piece fabric which start from wearing on head and touches the ground but may not cover the face and this is usually used in Iraq and Iran and other Arab countries.

Skirts:

Those who don’t like to wear all above categories but they want to get covered the whole body in a stylish way they choose to wear skirts.

Skirt is a cloth stitched in two different sizes, one is stitched in a short length which starts from waist and end at the knee. The other one starts from the waist and ends at the feet length. It is paired or styled with a T-shirt or woven sweaters along hijab or scarf.

Jumpsuits:

Turkish people are more stylish then other Muslim countries because they use to combine religion and style both at the same time.

Jumpsuit is like a dungaree from shoulders to feet. It is a one piece cloth stitched in different ways which gives a classy look to a women and can be made to order in different colors, fabric and styles.

Men Hijab clothes:

Above detailed description are about the hijab clothes which is worn by Muslim women but now I will like to tell you few hijab clothes which are also worn and used by Muslim men. I know this is a thing which will surprise you but that is a fact that Muslim Men also wear hijab clothes.

So Let’s move on to men’s hijab clothes which are Thobe, Bisht and Ghutra and Egal which is also known as shemagh and kuffiyeh.

Conclusion:

Hijab clothes which are worn in Turkey has a vast range which follows Islamic rules and also gives a western touch so women could carry different clothes in different ways but the main thing which has to be in mind is to cover. You can wear whatever you want to but the only thing to remember is “Hijab”.
